As the Church Stretton Cricket Club celebrates its centenary year, the Town Council wishes to congratulate it on achieving this milestone.
To mark the occasion, Barrie Oxtoby has produced a centenary booklet. This illustrates the abiding camaraderie and lifelong friendships forged between club members.
In terms of sporting success, the fortunes of the Club have inevitably varied over the years, but the Club has always retained a committed core of members.
As it embarks on its next one hundred years, the Club now boasts a new Pavilion as an added attraction for new members.
It also wants to thank the Club for playing such an integral role in shaping our strong community identity, passing on down the generations common values of fair play and mutual support.
Long may the Club continue to thrive as a forum in which both young and old can come together to enjoy each other’s company in pursuit of a common interest in the game.
