No Parking Order 26th June 2020

Shropshire Council are introducing a ‘prohibition of parking’ on Shrewsbury Road and Churchill Road. Notices are being issued by Shropshire Council to residents on Shrewsbury Road and Churchill Road, Church Stretton.

This action follows concerns about the recent upsurge in on-street parking by visitors to Carding Mill Valley and the public safety issues it causes.

Immediate Effect

The Temporary Traffic Order will come into effect immediately and will be identified on site by the presence of enforceable ‘No Waiting’ cones.

Shrewsbury Road

The Temporary Traffic Order will be effective on Shrewsbury Rd between the school and Lutwyche Rd.

Churchill Road

The Temporary Traffic Order will be effective on the north side of Churchill Rd, from its junction with Shrewsbury Rd to its junction with The Paddock and, on its south side, around its junctions with Kennedy Close and Chartwell Close. Please note that, if you use Churchill Rd. to park on, please ensure you adhere to the new restrictions by parking on the south side only.

Well done Shropshire Council for your decision to have parking on one side only down Churchill Road and into The Paddock which will stop cars parking on the one and only pavement on The Paddock As cars park Up On to the pavement this will now allow people with walking difficulties using wheelchairs walking aids etc one safe pavement now With thanks Roy Swarbrooke

Well done to Shropshire Council for their decision to control the parking problem on Churchill Road as residents of The Paddock we were very pleased to see cones here as well, but would appreciate a couple more cones along side of only footpath. For as you are probably aware we only have a pavement on one side which causes problems with cars parking onto pavement which does not allow for people using wheelchairs ,walking frames etc Thank You Roy Swarbrooke
