Covid-19 Liaison Meetings Resume
The Church Stretton Covid-19 Liaison meetings, bringing together councils and community organisations, have now resumed.
Inflated Infection Rates
Prior to the second lockdown starting on November 5th, Shropshire was on the Medium Alert Level. The confirmed infection level in Church Stretton has been low but, more recently, the infection rate has risen to 177 per 100,000. This is higher than the national average. So, it is important that everyone continues to observe the social distancing instruction and the wearing of face masks.
Shropshire Council Support Services
The full range of Covid-19 support services provided by Shropshire Council are listed on: www.shropshire.gov.uk and help is available by emailing: CommunityReassurance@shropshire.gov.uk or phoning 0345 6789 028
Local Support Services Reinstated
The Mayfair Centre has re-activated all of its support services from the first lockdown. Its day services and support phone calls are continuing, as are its meals and support deliveries from pharmacies and food shops, including volunteer support to the deliveries from the Co-op and Sandford Hardware. If you wish to request help or offer volunteer support, please email: information@mayfaircentre.org.uk or phone 722077
Please give your support again to the services continuing to be provided by local shop-keepers. This is important for their survival. Church Stretton will rise to the challenge again!
Food Bank
Demand on the Food Bank at the Parish Centre (724044) is increasing but it has been well supported by financial contributions and donations of food and essential items at the Co-op.
Good Neighbours drivers
Good Neighbours drivers remain available to take patients to medical appointments, as non-Covid health care services are continuing at present.
The Market
The Thursday Market in the Square will be limited to three essential food suppliers, with the requirement that shoppers wear face masks and maintain social distancing as much as possible. At present, the public toilets remain open.
Silvester Horne Institute
Silvester Horne Institute is closed
Town Council Office
The Town Council office is closed except for appointments but phone calls and emails are still being processed. Phone 722113 or email reception@churchstretton-tc.gov.uk

I agree . They need our support as we need theirs
I understand that at present space has not been allocated on the market for the sale of bread and cakes by Shepherd Hills. I appreciate that arrangements have had to be made quickly. However this community has always provided excellent service to Church Stretton residents and made direct home deliveries during the first lockdown. I hope they can be accommodated from Thursday 12th November.
